Fees

Medicare

Medicare currently allows up 10 x individual sessions per year for psychological services. You will need to see your GP first, for a mental health care plan in order to claim the Medicare rebate of $141.85 per session.

The current Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommended fee for a 50-minute psychology session is $300. My fee is $240 (waged) $190 (unwaged).

Private Health

If you are a member of a private health fund and are covered for psychology under an “Extras Package” a receipt can be emailed to you after the session. You will then need to lodge your claim online with your health fund. Please note, you are only able to claim a rebate from either Medicare or your Private Health, not both.

Payment

Payment is made after each session via cash or EFTPOS. Usually the rebate in processed at the same time.

Cancellation

To get the full benefit of psychotherapy, regular attendance is imperative.
If you need to cancel or change the appointment, please give at least 48-hour’s notice.

Changes made with less than 48-hours notice will be charged 50% cancellation fee and changes made with 24-hours notice will be charged the full fee (cancellation fees are not rebatable).
