“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change“
~ Carl Rogers ~
I am a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist working with adults and youth (18+) in the Northern Rivers region of NSW, Australia. With 25-years experience, I have worked in diverse roles and settings, including: academic lecturer, trainer, researcher-consultant, and clinical psychologist in private practice.
I have work across community, inpatient and forensic settings. As a master trainer and quality assurance specialist for Aggression Replacement Training (ART) I have consulted extensively to government and non-government agencies in Australia and the UK around effective offender programming.
I was previously employed as the Lead Psychologist at ACON (Aids Council of NSW) Australia’s largest community-based LGBTQ+ and HIV+ health promotion agency. I continue to work closely with the LGBTQ+ community.
There is no one size fits all therapy. I adapt the therapy to your evolving needs and feedback. My approach to therapy is integrative drawing on contemporary cognitive and behavioural therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). I also draw from systemic, somatic, psychodynamic and Buddhist psychologies.
Above all else, the foundation of the therapeutic relationship is a human interaction that offers the potential for deeper insight and acceptance of our shared and flawed humanity.
Therapy can teach us to hold our stories of self and other lightly and be more at ease with uncertainty and paradox.

Kuan Yin or Guanyin, the bodhisattva of compassion, was originally depicted in India in the male form of Avalokiteshvara. However, by the 6th century in China, images of Guanyin were gender fluid, as seen here depicted in female or androgynous form.
